Our original idea for this Christmas was to spend Christmas Eve day and evening with Jason's family, come home that night so we could have Christmas Day just the three of us (our first time ever) and then go to my family party on the 26th. Well, for some reason, my plans never quite turn out.
Before we left for Midway, we checked the weather (a bunch of times) and decided that we should pack up the car "just in case". Well, it was a good thing we did...we got snowed in!! Below are some Christmas Eve highlights.
Collin was pretty excited to set out the yummy cookies for Santa. This is him testing to make sure the eggnog met his approval!

After we set out the cookies, Collin was snuggling with Nate and Galina when someone heard Buddy the Elf outside (he is pretty much Collin's hero).
Collin was surprised to find a present for him, from Buddy, on the doorstep.
Grandma was even more surprised than Collin!
Collin was pretty cute opening his gift...he couldn't believe that Buddy would leave him a present. He said:
"I must be like his best friend or something!"

When we were all done, he summed up the event by saying:
"It's kind of like a magical Christmas!"
